Rule throws "false" error

Tomas Franco June 5, 2024

Hi,

I have a rule (in a Product Discovery project) to update my idea status when linked issues are in certain status (I achieved this with regular expressions on the smart value: {{issue.issuelinks.inwardIssue.fields.status.name}}).

The rule seems to be working properly, however, it throws an error, this is annoying as I receive e-mails for an error that apparently does not exists. I thought of turning off the e-mail notifications, but I find it useful to receive in case it fails due to other reasons.

Hello @Tomas Franco

For me and based on the audit log of the automation, several possibilities arise:

  • Either the actor of the automation does not have permission to transition to this status
  • Or there are conditions that need to be met to transition to this status
  • Or there is no transition to this status

Hope this can help

Hi @Duc Thang TRAN , thank you for the prompt reply, the thing is that, as the Log Actions show, although it says the issue "can't move", it still transitions to the desired status. The thing is not that the rule is failing, but the rule is saying that it is failing when it is not!
