Identify the story with the highest status category value and display on folder level in Structure

Meital Adir April 6, 2024

Hi,

We are using Structure that is grouped by custom field and I'm tying to display a status on the folders level, based on the stories under these folders.

I've tried it with this formula:

IF issueType = story :
max {statuscategory}
with this formula - in a folder that I have only one story "in progress", I got "To do" in the formula.
I think it's because I can't find the "story" variable in the source, only "issue type" as a source.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Meital

Hello @Meital Adir

The max{statusCategory} formula should return a Status value for any item in the structure. The formula can additionally be tailored to return value only for specific parent items.

if the returned value contains a wrong Status, then check if you have any quick filters enabled. Such filters don't affect the calculation in the Formula column and if, for example, all 'To Do' issues removed by the filter, the Formula will still return 'To Do' because of how the quick filters work.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us directly at our support portal and we'll take a look at your setup in more detail.

Best regards,
