How to link incidents to problems using ScriptRunner (or any other Java scripting tool)

HI all:

We want our support agents to easily identify problems records that could be related to the incident they are working on so they can link the incident to that problem.

In this way, we can have the count on how many incidents are generated by those problems.

Our JSM admins are developing a Java script using ScriptRunner to have a field in the incident record that brings all the open problem issues that have the same product. 

This seems to establish a link between both of the issues, but it is not the same as the native JSM "linked issues" feature. We would like to know whether we can do something to have this script to do the linking in the native way.
