We have Structure set up so that if we drag and drop an issue start or end date on the Gantt chart then it updates the Target Start and Target End date for the issue.
What we have found though is if we add/update a dependency within Jira Structure then the issue timeframe changes on the Gantt chart within Structure but does not update the Target Start and Target End Date on the issue in Jira.
Is there a way we can configure Structure to update these dates in a similar way to how it does it when moving it within Structure?
Hello @Daniel Lupton
To be able to use Target start & Target end dates for scheduling on the Gantt chart, you need to:
1. Define these dates as the Start & Finish dates in the manual scheduling settings.
2. For an issue to have values in both fields.
3. For the issue to be treated as a task on the chart.
If the issue in question have values in the fields and both fields are selected in the configuration, then it's possible that the issue is being treated as a group. This setting can be applied to all issues that have sub-issues underneath them in the structure, and when the setting is enabled, the individual data of these parent issue is ignored since groups only reflect the scheduling/workloa of tasks inside of them.
Unselecting the 'Treat parent issues as groups' option in the Scheduling tab of the chart's configuration will change the behavior, and the parent task will be scheduled using its own data, instead of using the data of its sub-issues.
I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or if you have other questions about Structure, please reach out to us directly at our support portal.

Hi Stepan
Thank you for the reply but it does. It seemed to have addressed what I am trying to do.
What I am trying to do is to ha e the ticket data updated based on the data and not just shown things the Gantt chart so trams can use those dates in their own views and reports to mange their work.
I have raised a request in the Tempo portal to see if there is anything we will be able to do.
Thanks,
Daniel
