BigGantt Baseline

Barry Neilson September 11, 2024

Hi

I'm using Biggantt app.

I'm trying to implement the baseline feature, however, it does not seem to map to the Gantt chart.  I thought it should be the Baseline End Date field, but the baseline does not want to move.  How can I know what lines on the Gantt are connected to, and how can I edit them?

I feel like BigGantt uses fields that don't exist.  E.g. I have

  • Baseline End Date (can edit in the chart), and
  • Baseline end date (can't edit in the chart but seems to get info from the Start Date).

Two different cases, one of them doesn't exist.  It's like fields are being invented out of nowhere, and Jira has no idea what's going on.

Cheers

Hi @Barry Neilson

Baseline Start / End date field

This field determines the start/end position of the task's baseline on the timeline. The following field types can be synchronized:

  • "Date Picker"

  • "Date Time Picker"

"Date Time Picker" fields are only available on Jira server versions.

Disabling synchronization with Jira is possible by selecting the '--Not Synchronized--' option.

By default, the Baseline start/end date custom fields are selected. These fields are created during the App installation. If they're not, you can create these custom fields and map them for syncing.

Thanks for the response.

What I found was that I could use the exact same field name in the Jira field for the start and then assign a custom field for the baseline end.  That allowed for editing the baseline on the Gantt chart directly where I had previously not been able to click into the field.

Seemed to have worked.

Thanks again.
