Well, last week simply rocked. As a first-time attendee (and exhibitor), Team '24 exceeded my expectations.
The greatness of this conference is due to the people in the Atlassian community--warm, smart, and fun people who seem to be on a quest to improve how they work with others.
Plus, the sessions were genuinely informative and entertaining. I also got to show Visor's app to so many people at our booth.
Here are the main conference takeaways, including:
- Atlassian updates 💎
- Why the vibes were 🙌

Atlassian Updates
Obviously, most people were at this conference to hear from Atlassian themselves. We got a peek at their product roadmap, as well as updates about improvements they're making to their tools and community.
- 🛠️ Tool updates: Confluence will now have a whiteboard. They also discussed how Loom (which Atlassian acquired last year) is becoming easier to use as a way to avoid or reduce meetings. Yay to getting more sh*t done!
- 🤖 AI, AI, AI: The biggest updates all had to do with AI, which was a HUGE theme of the conference. Essentially, Atlassian seems to really be pushing the envelop IRT what AI can do. Moving past the generative AI / LLMs, Rovo (their new AI tool), will help people actually accomplish complex tasks (e.g., a no-code JQL process), search for information across various SaaS apps, and much more.
- Atlassian even invited AI researcher Dr. Fei-Fei Li, and Editor in Chief of The Economist, Zanny Minton Beddoes, onstage with Atlassian’s co-founder to discuss how AI can be used effectively and responsibly. This was a highlight of the conference!
- 📕 Atlassian University is now free: All of Atlassian’s certifications and trainings are now completely free. That's, simply, just awesome. Hopefully this makes it even easier for more team members to be effective at using Atlassian's tools.
Community = All the Feels
- 😸 Welcoming, warm people: As a first timer to the Team conference, I was struck by how GREAT people were. I've been to A LOT of B2B conferences and this one had so much more heart than what I've encountered before. The fact that Ted Lasso's show creators spoke on the last day felt SO APROPOS. (Also, I now have Ted Lasso on my must-watch list.)
- 🪩 Atlassian Community Leaders & Creators: I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the Community leaders, Creators, Atlassian employees, and users all helped empower one one another. To quote our Senior Content Marketing Manager, Halden Pfearsen, (who did a write-up about the show on Visor's blog): "We saw it again and again: knowledge that would be so easy to gatekeep being shared openly and with enthusiasm. It set Team ‘24 apart from any other B2B conference we’ve yet seen."
- How it was being a first-time vendor: People who stopped by the Visor booth were curious, kind, and genuinely excited about how Visor helps teams gain crystal clear alignment. People asked thoughtful questions and had the technical prowess that allowed for a deeper conversation about how Visor works.

This improv comedy nerd in me LOVED the keynote with Ted Lasso co-creators, Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt
I didn't know who Afrojack was before this show, but now I do. GREAT DJ to end Bash. I danced my butt off!
Bash was at the Wynn. Which is noooice:
