Do you want to quickly find specific information from a Confluence page? Do you want to transform a page into a digestible summary or translate it to another language, all from within your Confluence instance? Then AI Assistant is the app for you. AI Assistant provides an integrated chatbox to ask ChatGPT questions about your current Confluence page. This can include tasks related to the content of the page itself. Not sure how best to use AI to power up your Confluence experience? No worries, we include a list of useful suggestions to get you started right away.
To access the AI Assistant, simply open the “more actions” menu at the top right corner of a page, and click on “Start a conversation with AI Assistant”. This will open a modal where you can ask or request actions from ChatGPT about the current page.
AI Assistant works by automatically sending the entire Confluence page to ChatGPT as a context, alongside your query. Its answer is then returned right back to your Confluence instance. Inside the AI Assistant modal, you can bring up helpful suggestions of what to ask the AI Assistant to improve your Confluence experience, by clicking on the light bulb icon to the left of the chatbox. We’ve optimized these prompts to give you the best result.
In order to access ChatGPT, you will have to link an OpenAI API key to AI Assistant. This is done from the AI Assistant administration page. Simply follow the guidelines on how to obtain your API key from OpenAI, then paste it into the box. It will remain hidden from all users once input. If your key supports GPT-4, the user will be able to choose the model in the AI Assistant modal.
AI Assistant is still in active development, and is therefore completely free to install from the Atlassian Marketplace. Feel free to contact us if you run into any issues, or have feedback or features you’d like to see in AI Assistant. We love forward to hearing how AI Assistant streamlines your Confluence experience.
