Tempo Time Tracking Working Incredibly With Mobile For Jira

We all know that keeping track of current work processes and how long it takes to complete specific tasks is very important. Especially in an agile work environment built for efficiency. Using Jira to improve your workflow is a good way to go. An even better way? Integrating it with a third-party app, such as Timesheets by Tempo, helps you track time, log work, and even plan time on Jira. Being able to access these features through your mobile phone with Mobile for Jira? That's just the cherry on top of such a productive workflow.

What is Mobile for Jira?

Mobile for Jira is a versatile mobile app that provides access to your Jira projects and tasks from anywhere, anytime. With Mobile for Jira, you can effortlessly create, update, and manage Jira issues directly from your mobile device. Whether you're in the field, on the go, or working remotely, Mobile for Jira ensures that you stay connected to your projects and tasks, keeping your workflow efficient and productive.

What is Timesheets by Tempo?

Timesheets by Tempo is an app integration with Jira that helps track how much time you spend on Jira issues, as well as helps plan time for upcoming work or even meetings. This can work for each person individually, or even as members of a team for a manager to track. A manager can help assign tasks straight from the app, as well as adjust how long each task should take depending on the employee and their available working hours. The Jira integration is pretty intuitive and makes it easy to keep your issues and workflow in order.

What can you do with Timesheets by Tempo and Mobile for Jira?

By using Timesheets by Tempo through Mobile for Jira, you're extending Jira's functionality, to track and log time via your mobile phone. Thus combining two powerful tools to optimize your project management and time-tracking processes, empowering you to work smarter, not harder, streamline your workflow, optimize your time, and gain valuable insights.

This means, you can use Mobile for Jira to:

  • Log time on the go: Open the Mobile for Jira, select the relevant ticket, and log your time directly. No more waiting until you're back at your desk.
  • Plan tasks: Visualize your workday with Timesheets by Tempo's intuitive planning feature. Allocate time for specific tasks and ensure you're staying on track with project goals.
  • Track progress: Gain valuable insights into your time commitment with detailed activity logs. View your logged hours day by day or week by week, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing your workload.
  • Submit timesheets: Submit your timesheets directly from Mobile for Jira, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for your team and management.

Conclusion

As much as we hate to admit it, there are situations or tasks in which we get so lost in work, and time tends to pass us by without us noticing. By integrating Mobile for Jira with Timesheets by Tempo, users can easily log their time on Jira issues directly from their mobile devices. This integration eliminates the need for manual time tracking and ensures that all time entries are accurately recorded and accounted for. Whether you're working in the field, attending meetings, or traveling, you can easily track your time and stay on top of your tasks with Mobile for Jira and Timesheets by Tempo.

Thanks for sharing these tips! I’m a big fan of mobile tools. Honestly, anything that makes it easy to work on the go is a win for me.

Tempo and Clockwork are both great programs.

The problem I'm having with all of these products is they advertise features that simply do not work in mobile.

Clockwork and Tempo both allow attributes to be passed at the time of the entry.

Both fail at this on mobile.

Clockwork, because they had a software bug that they basically refused to fix.

As attributes are added, the form gets longer, this length change pushes the " save " button too low to access the button at all !

Tempo ( according to the agent that replied to my ticket ) said " attributes " are not a feature on mobile.

Why offer a product that you claim can be used for field service, then exclude one of the most important features ?

This renders this app useless to us for our field service team and we have 22-28 service guys. (depending on the season).

This is fixable, but for some reason, Clockwork can't add a scroll bar to the  mobileview, and Tempo simply eliminates attributes from mobile all together.

These developers are great at creating addons, but I'm convinced they need some additional education on field service use cases.

First one to offer this or correct this will get our commitment for 22 licenses.

@John Wallner

We completely understand the importance of using the Mobile form with the Attributes feature and how the inability to save the form makes this functionality unusable for your team. We recognize this affects your specific business need.

The limitations of Jira's mobile app have made implementing a fix more challenging. However, our team is actively exploring alternative approaches to bypass these restrictions and enhance user functionality.

Addressing this issue is part of our roadmap, and we are committed to finding a solution. However, we cannot prioritize this now.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to improve our App. If you have any further feedback or questions, please feel free to contact us.
Regards,
Adaeze.

I know that the attributes don't work in mobile, but does mobile have the start and stop feature ?

Is it a button ?
