Moreover, this also marks an important milestone for us as this is our first product 100% built on Forge. It allows us to create a custom software application using the Forge platform provided by Atlassian designed for developers to extend and enhance Atlassian products

Bridge the Power between an Excel-like Table & Gantt chart

GanttTable is DevSamurai’s native Forge app for project portfolio management (PPM), which uses advanced structure table capabilities on a visual Gantt chart.

1. Advanced spreadsheet abilities

With it, you can easily manage multiple Jira projects with portfolios. Using spreadsheet features like inline bulk editing and total summary (eg. total assignees, sprint completion status…) can help you work more efficiently.

You can also create custom structures for a unique view of your project and workflow and save different views for later use.

2. Gantt chart abilities

And don’t forget that you are also empowered with the Gantt chart. You can visualize your Jira issues from multiple projects on the same portfolio timeline and manage them effectively.

Leverage baselines, critical paths, milestones, and dependencies to make your project planning seamless.

GanttTable release on Forge

GanttTable for Jira is 100% built on Forge. This means that the app is a secure, scalable, and tightly integrated application that extends the functionality of Atlassian products.

1. What is the Forge platform?

Forge is Atlassian's cloud-based platform for app development. It enables developers to deploy their applications on infrastructure that Atlassian automatically provisions, manages, monitors, and scales. Forge also offers a comprehensive set of tools for expanding the capabilities of Atlassian products.

While Forge apps are developed using JavaScript, the runtime environment has some differences from a standard Node.js setup. You can learn more about the runtime reference here.

2. So, why build with Forge?

Building on Forge allows Atlassian to handle the infrastructure using a serverless platform. In return, we at DevSamurai can manage GanttTable’s risks promptly while meeting their security obligations, privacy, and transparency.
