How to synchronize labels across your boards in Trello

Keeping your Trello boards organized is crucial for efficient project management. Labels play a big role in that organization, allowing you to categorize tasks visually. However, when working across multiple boards, maintaining label consistency can become a challenge. Manually recreating every label on every board can be time-consuming and tiresome.

Getting started with Unify Labels power-up

1. Enable the power-up
   To enable the Unify Labels power-up, click on "Power-Ups" in your board's header and select "Add Power-Ups." Search for "Unify Labels," and when it appears, click "Add." Trello will display a brief description of the permissions required—review them, then click "Add" again. If an authorization window pops up, simply click "Authorize" to proceed.
2. Select labels to synchronize
   To get started, select the labels you want to synchronize with other boards. Click the "Synchronize Labels" button on your board, then choose the desired labels from the panel on the left. If no labels are listed, you may need to create new ones or add the power-up to a board that already has labels.
3. Select target boards
   Once you've finalized your labels, choose the boards where you'd like to share them. You can select up to 50 boards within the current workspace. No need to worry about existing labels on these boards - the synchronization process will automatically resolve any conflicts or duplicates, ensuring your selected labels are seamlessly integrated across all chosen boards.
4. Hit that synchronize button!
   After selecting your labels and boards, click the "Synchronize" button. Please be patient, as the process may take a moment if you’re syncing many boards. Make sure not to close the window during this time. Once the synchronization is complete, you’ll receive a success notification, and your labels will be beautifully consistent across all selected boards, ready for use right away!
