Codegeist Unleashed 2023: AI Demo Express App Perfect for Support Teams

If you work at a company where client demos are a thing, you might want to listen carefully. During this year’s edition of Codegeist, our team created an app that will transform the way you prepare for such demos: AI Demo Express. What inspired us to create it and how it could help your team? Read on to find out!

Inspiration ✨

Our consultants and support spend a lot of time preparing demos for our new and existing clients. They make sure that what they show at the demos is relevant and relatable to their audience, which requires lots of creativity and attention to detail. We wanted to cut the time of such preparations and ease the strain on our colleagues, by giving them an AI tool that facilitates decisions on what products and project templates to use and by creating example issues that their clients can relate to.

What it does ❓

Imagine a world where you no longer have to grapple with the daunting task of choosing the right project type or template that aligns with your client's context. Our app does that for you. It's like having a personal assistant that understands your client's needs, sifts through a myriad of options, and presents you with the perfect project type and template that fits like a glove.

But it doesn't stop here. Our app goes the extra mile to populate these templates with relatable issues, creating a comprehensive project plan that is tailor-made for your client's unique needs. It's like having a seasoned project manager at your fingertips, ready to guide you through every step of the project management process.

How we built it 🛠️

Thanks to employing AI, we were able to engage non-developer roles in the process of creating working solutions where their creativity wasn’t limited by the ability to write code.

The application is built using a variety of technologies. The front-end is developed using React and Typescript. We used Atlaskit to create a consistent and familiar user experience.

For the design, we used Figma and Storybook. These tools helped us create a visually appealing and user-friendly interface in a collaborative manner.

Challenges we ran into 💪

  • Mastering the principles of AI, understanding its limitations, and learning how to "communicate" with it.
  • Forming a cohesive team from individuals who typically don't collaborate.
  • Realizing that a 24-hour day is far too short! ;)

Accomplishments that we’re proud of 🎊

  • Coming together as a team.
  • Creating memorable experiences for all of us.
  • Creating a tool that will make jobs easier for our colleagues.

What we learned 📖

  • Agility is not just about quick actions but about having a team that is fully engaged and committed.
  • When you trust your team, they are more likely to deliver the desired results.
  • The process of crafting prompts is iterative. By feeding the results of one prompt into another, you can achieve the expected output forms.

What's next for AI Demo Express 🚀

AI Demo Express, enhanced with additional project configuration options, could potentially evolve into a comprehensive AI-powered configuration tool. This would enable the creation of complete Jira solutions for our clients and partners using natural language instead of complex and time consuming setup.
