Every product team has faced the challenge of properly formatting release notes, ensuring clarity, and managing multiple communication tools.
But what if your release management process worked smarter, not harder?
Guess what? All of this can now be done with the new and improved Automated Release Notes and Reports App!
Here, we are excited to announce the January feature roundup, which includes AI-powered templates, enhanced customisation, and seamless updates for easy release management.
AI-Powered Template creation is here (Beta)
Creating templates for release notes is like a breeze now! With our most recent AI-powered feature, templates for a variety of formats, such as PDF, email, MS Word, and release page notifications, can be automatically generated. Just give AI a prompt, and it will create a well-organised, adaptable template for you.
This feature is currently in beta.
Well, we appreciate your feedback! Your feedback will help us fine-tune and improve the AI-powered template-building process so it's just right and saves you tons of time.
Enhanced MS Teams Messages - Now in Full Width
Communication through Microsoft Teams has just gotten better! Earlier, release notes sent via Automated Release Notes and Reports were displayed in a compact format, making them difficult to read.
But now our most recent enhancement ensures that updates are readable and clear by allowing MS Teams messages to fill the entire screen. You can now say goodbye to cluttered messages in favor of a more seamless, structured communication experience.
Introduced “Spotlight Issue” mode for enhanced customisation
Adding those important Jira issues to your release notes just got a whole lot easier with the new Spotlight Issue feature! You can highlight important details in your release notes by selecting particular Jira issue fields and custom variables with this powerful tool.
How does it work?
Just pick the fields you wish to show and select a single issue. When the release notes are generated, the system will take the actual values and replace them with the variables. This allows you to concentrate on significant issues while sharing detailed information with your team and stakeholders.
Custom variables now supported in AI rule action
We have advanced automation to a new level! AI rule actions can now be performed in JQL using custom variables. This means you can accurately filter and identify Jira issues by matching values to predefined Jira fields, similar to how templates work. This enhancement makes automated workflows smarter and more effective by allowing for more accurate issue selection.
Create new editor confluence templates from ARNR effortlessly
The new editor now allows you to create Confluence templates straight from ARNR’s Jira app. This feature makes it way easier to write and publish release notes in Confluence. Just select the Confluence new editor type template, pick a space, and an instant editable draft will be produced.
This update makes it easier for Confluence users to arrange and structure release notes in their documentation.
Introducing new ‘Grid layout’ in the JQL sections
There is now a visually appealing method for displaying Jira issues! You can now arrange Jira issues in two, three, or four columns with our new Grid Layout for JQL sections. This feature improves the readability and presentation of issues, making them look like structured, stylish cards.
When you preview the template, you will notice a clean and modern grid layout that displays Jira issues in an understandable format. This feature update improves the presentation of information by incorporating clear visuals.
Introduced ITSM Weekly Major incident report in the template gallery
The ARNR Template Gallery now includes a brand new template: ITSM Weekly Major Incident Report. This template allows you to create detailed incident reports that can be shared as PowerPoints, PDFs, or emails to keep everyone up to date.
With this template, you get:
The first page includes a summary of the major incidents.
A structured issue list that follows the JQL configuration from the second page
A grid layout with two columns (which can be changed to two or four columns for easier reading)
This report simplifies the sharing of major incident reports and keeps your team informed.
The most recent Automated Release Notes and Reports feature updates make managing release notes easier by improving automation, customisation, and communication. These new and updated features, such as AI-powered template creation, customised release notes, and new reporting templates, will boost your workflow efficiency.
