I have it on good advice not to run sales and marketing out of Jira.  I do run them out of confluence but haven't used specific marketing apps yet.

We get by with the integration to Salesforce and Google docs, which we use heavily.

@Tomislav Tobijas  - Yes, I have also used Upraise. It is also a good tool, and I could recommend it. Personally, I found the OKRs by Oboard to be a better solution for my need at the time. But you should them demo both to you so you can decide.

@Shawn Doyle - ReleaseTEAM - I have helped several clients use Jira for tracking their Marketing work. Curious what is missing about it that is replaced by other items. I might need to check those out!

@Susan Waldrip - Yeah, I think that's the beauty of having this dialog here - it helps us all to see what apps are out there that might prevent us from doing a lot of manual work, which in the long run probably costs more to create and maintain than the apps would cost.

Marketing isnโ€™t really my area of expertise, but Iโ€™m curious to learn more about the ideas and applications that help marketing teams, especially those built on Atlassian tools.

I wonder if there are any apps that guide beginners like me through marketing strategies or processes step by step, for example, when it comes to promoting apps. Iโ€™m particularly interested in tools that make these processes easier to understand and manage for someone without a marketing background.

@John Funk , Agreed! And even if we don't end up purchasing an app immediately for something, it's always helpful to know and keep in mind it's out there. With these discussions, you also get the "reviews" from actual users, and some of the comments are even giving me ideas for how to better use the apps we have!

Hi everyone,

It was so awesome to hear the warm feedback about our OKR app!

For both current customers and those who are just curious about OKRs - if you're coming to Atlassian Team Europe, you can meet Oboard team at a braindate "How to set OKRs for marketing teams": https://team24europe.braindate.com/braindates/201683/

If it doesn't fit with your schedule, I would be happy to connect on LinkedIn and schedule some time to talk aside: https://www.linkedin.com/in/margosakova/

Thanks again :)

There have already been a few interesting app demos, most of which are not just for marketing teams, so don't forget to click on the apptoberfest2024 tag to see them

Our marketing teamโ€”aka, just meโ€”is currently using Jira to keep projects and tasks organized. The native features get the job done for the most part. In terms of OKRs, I found Upraise from Amoeboids super helpful (simple yet intuitive). As for content creation, I primarily use Ideation for Confluence and whiteboards to brainstorm and prioritize new ideas, Content status for Confluence to classify pages and blogs, and of course, Content Formatting Toolkit to customize content and make it pop.

Our marketing team does not use any apps but is looking forward to reading what others post.

Ouch honestly I don't recall our Marketing team reaching out to request an App in Jira that will meet their needs.

Most of our Apps are for DevOps.

This will be a great topic to learn about Apps that I never check on the Marketplace.

Best,

Fadoua

Hi everyone,
It's great to see so many interesting tools being discussed here! For our marketing activities, weโ€™ve found a seamless way to stay organized using Jira and Confluence. We also leverage an app called Links Explorer (LXP) within Jira. It helps our team maintain clear traceability between different projects and hierarchies, allowing for a structured view of our marketing campaigns and deliverables. We rely on Confluence for brainstorming and documenting marketing strategies.

If anyone is exploring tools for marketing projects within Jira, feel free to connectโ€”Iโ€™d be happy to share more about our setup!

I love the outcome of the discussion so far!

For our team, we donโ€™t have a dedicated app for our daily marketing task... of course, we use Jira to track our work. But when it comes to reporting, like pulling Jira data for deeper analysis, we rely on Excel-like Tables for Confluence.

Itโ€™s our "go-to tool" for generating monthly reports and conducting sales analysis on our Confluence page. Beyond this, we also use it for a variety of other purposes across the team, not just for marketing.

Thanks @Mirek for posting about Canva. I had no idea there was a connector available for Jira, will check it out!

Hi all,

I do agree with others that OKR For Jira by Oboard is a great app.

I have tested this extensively at a company an the crowd loved it, but the management decided it was too expensive!!!

They decided to run with MS Project!!!, as this was already in house.

So I tried to convince them that decentralising work will give major discrepancies between actuals in both tools and that alignment would be troublesome, but my concerns where not heard.

Steve van Niman October 8, 2024

I could see where an integration between Jira Asset Management and Salesforce would be useful.  Especially if you treat certain Client components as assets.

The ability to integrate Requests/Issues with those Client components, then link all the way back to SF.

Yes/No?

Miro is another integration that I use and also broadly recommend.

Of course Atlassian has based on development a prefix for designs to use in connection with Figma. I rather find Figma more for technical solutions and not looking at the global picture.

Miro is in my opinion more friendly to use for any user.

What are other members thoughts?

Oh definitely I would recommend Miro too, we use it for brainstorming session or retrospective session

It's a pity that Confluence Whiteboards aren't up to the same standard as Miro yet; our marketing and other users don't see any reason to move to Whiteboards as they currently exist

Hi @Stephen.Lugton

Second you in that, that will greatly improve tool collaboration if we could do sprint retro's/planning in Whiteboards.
