โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‚ Apptoberfest Demo: Trip to Munich with Issue History for Jira

image-20221003-083618.png

Going to Munich is always great idea, especially in October. No wonder our developers Peter, Mike, and Jane have planned their trip to Germany. Would you like to join them on their adventures and find out how they arrange everything in Jira? Then keep reading.

1. Create tasks for a trip in Jira

Our software developers are creative enough to use Jira not only as a convenient and safe bug tracker, but also as a system that will help them achieve their goals. Therefore, they started preparing for the festival in advance. They created Jira tasks to not forget any item.

Everything was set according to the plan, and dev-fellows went to Munich.

2. Record tasks changes with Issue History for Jira

The head of customer support, Mason, was snowed under with regular reports and missed the opportunity to join his friends. Though he wasnโ€™t upset at all. Mason knew he could find all planned assignments on Jira board. The problem was that friends often changed their plans and goals, which was also reflected in the tasks.

To see all the field changes his friends made in the Oktoberfest tasks, he ran the Issue History for Jira add-on.

Mason filtered issues by Apptoberfest project and found out his teammates had changed the arrival city to Berlin and were staying there for a few days.

He decided to find out who was in charge of booking the hotel because he wanted to join his friends and rebook a room next to them.

Mason opened the Columns manager and added the Assignee field to see who booked hotel rooms.ezgif.com-gif-maker.gif

According to the Issue History report, Jane was responsible for ordering.

So Mason called Jane and arranged to book a hotel room. There was no time left, so he hurried up to the airport.

In order not to forget the plan for the Apptoberfest trip, he exported issue history report to an Excel file. Now, he is ready for trip to Munich with ready agenda.

3. Store deleted issues in Jira

Jane, Michael, and Peter created tasks to determine trip expenses and then deleted those issues from Jira. As Mason wanted to compensate the money for his team, he found โ€œKeep deleted issuesโ€ extremely helpful.

Every member of the team had a great time in Munich. They tested Jira for planning their vacation and never missing important tasks, and Issue History for Jira to track every change made to the issue.

If youโ€™d like to have your own diary for every past activity, try Issue History for Jira. You will get:

  • Customizable change history report

  • Storage of deleted issues

Hi @Ditte Simard

Thank you for your interest. Currently, we have no plan for Jira Data Center (at least in 2022), but we are collecting and analyzing users' requests.

Hi @Yuliia_Borivets__SaaSJet_

Thank you for sharing with us your app! This seems like it could fill some gap that Jira have in terms of gathering data about changes. Very simple but yet handy representation of all changes and "keep deleted issues" seems to be the winner functionality of all! Good job!
