zephyr test steps customfield is always null

When retrieving zephyr test issues via REST API search call i can specify the fields to contain customfield_10293 (which is the zephyr test step field) but it is always null.

Zephyr 3.2.2

JIRA 7.2.7

NO ZAPI is installed/active

Any clue why the test steps customfield is not showing the steps' data?

Thanks for your interest in Zephyr.

Please note that you need to have ZAPI installed if you have to access all our REST APIs without any issues (like you are having now with zephyr test step field).Without ZAPI the APIs wont give the desired results

so the custom field is null because the ZAPI plugin needs to be activated to retrieve that data??

Why is it a custom field then in the first place if you cant read it out?

BTW, when exporting as XML i can see the steps definition in the custom fields on the same server

So I will do a workaround and implement a XML converter before i have to pay additional bucks just to get access to data
