redhat / centos rpm spec file for jira and confluence

Zippy Zeppoli December 3, 2012

I'm wondering if anyone out there has an RPM spec file for JIRA or Confluence.
Source RPMS would be even better.

Unfortunately, JIRA's installer doesn't add init script, etc so you have to build your OS dependent scripts around JIRA/Confluence.

I imagine someone out there has done this already, so I'm just asking if they'd be kind enough to share.

It's illegal to distribute the actual source of the systems, but building a WAR/EAR file from the donwload versions is actually very easy. Bundling the WAR (either as built, or exploded) up into an RPM is a doddle once you know how to build an RPM in general.

I've built RPMs for both Jira and Confluence, but they're going to be useless for you because they include all the site-specific customisations.
