Vincent Wang November 3, 2014

We need a custom field to fetch data from the third party database. Is there any examples?

Vincent

There are a couple of plugins intended to fetch data from an external database, please find them below:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.keplerrominfo.jira.plugins.databasecf

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.valiantys.jira.plugins.SQLFeed

Hope it helps!

Hi Luciano, I download the two plugins. But there is no source codes. Our custom field has one editable textbox, one button, one readonly textbox. When user input a number into the editable textbox and click the button, the readonly textbox will show a result queried from Database. Our requirement is not as complex as the two plugins you provided. Is there any simpler example or tutorials? Thanks.

Hi Vincent!

Or you give "nFeed" a try. Its a plugin (commercial) you can find on the Atlassian marketplace.

Hi Vincent,

You can refer to https://developer.atlassian.com/display/JIRADEV/JIRA+Plugin+Guide for a guideline in creating your own plugin.
