Improved Billing Experience for Cloud

 

Seeing some changes in where and how you manage your cloud bill? Here’s why.

We’ve been slowly making our transition away from our legacy billing system and experience, to a brand new one - a new billing engine that when complete, will unify billing and subscription management activity across all Atlassian cloud products.

Over the last year, we’ve been simultaneously building the new billing engine’s foundation, and migrating eligible customer accounts as critical capabilities developed. This work is still evolving, however it’s likely you’re either already active in the new system, or, have been recently migrated.

What to expect in the new billing engine

Whether you’re already transacting in the new engine, or have yet to experience the move, in the new cloud billing engine, cloud customers can expect key improvements in subscriptions management:

:1-one-blue: Improved management of invoicing and billing administration under an account-based model

:2-two-blue: Renewed flexibility to group and pay for subscriptions with billing profiles to best suit business needs

:3-three-blue: Enhanced billing roles, including a new Billing Administrator or superuser role, granting full permissions within the account.

:4-four-blue: Access to a brand-new, user-friendly interface to help admins oversee cloud product subscriptions, quotes and additional billing activities.

As stated above, we’ve been rolling out this new engine over a period of time, meaning not every cloud product or action is supported today. Here in this table, you can see what’s supported today versus coming soon.

How can you know what system your billing and invoicing is supported by?

Our legacy billing system was primarily managed and billed by site, under the ‘products’ tab in Atlassian Administration. The new billing engine, however, has re-organized how you manage your subscriptions and invoices, providing a billing account that can be directly managed under the ‘billing’ tab in Atlassian Administration.
