Guys
I am getting this log contineously in my logs (every few minutes) and I am presuming this is responsible for the memory leaks that I am experiencing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can remove this error? How can i verify that this .vm file is not being used by any project?

Hi Rahul,
This might be caused by a plugin that is incompatible with your JIRA version. Please check and see if all your installed plugins are compatible with your JIRA version.
Please also check out this KB that references this stack trace : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Is+Not+a+Valid+Reference+Error
Yes, I observed that there are three custom plugins that we had build and it was a result of those. When i disabled those plugins the errors stopped coming.
