Expected result: epic link changes to new epic
Actual result: epic link doesn't update
We have a JIRA Agile license. I have full permissions on all projects. Our JIRA software version is 7.1.2.
Response from JIRA support:
"Checking the main screen used for editing issues on projects (General Issue Create Edit Screen), we were able to identify that the field Epic Link was present on both Basic and Detail tabs. As fields are meant to show up only once per screen, this was causing JIRA to become lost when it came to change the value, as it had the new value in one field and the original on another. Navigating to the screen configuration and removing the extra Epic Link field from either tab resolved the issue. Note that after this is done, a page reload on the issue will be necessary for it to take effect. I also suggest reindexing JIRA after this field modification is done."
