Virtual Agile Teams, A Study Of The Practices

Hi everyone

I am very new to the Agile community and am in search for some answers. I am currently writing a thesis on Agile practices and am currently in the need of some answers for my research paper. I am currently looking for the biggest root problems or obstacles people in virtual agile teams face. This survey will help me understand better, identify, and address these challenges for my research. Coach or team member, your input/experience would be a big help in this piece. If you could please spare a few minutes of your day it would truly be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hi @Samar Gwalani

One obstacle that has to be talked about more is the more remote we are.  As we know, society is moving us towards only being connected via digital means, via social media, video calls, instant messaging.  We are losing the human connection across all of society and that is also true of the workplace.  Yes, the technology we have now is more advanced we can now all gather in virtual spaces but it does not replace the fact that humans by their very nature are designed to be tribal.  Productivity, creativity, empathy and understanding are hard to build over virtual means.

The founders of the agile manifesto knew it 22 years ago and its true today:

The most efficient and effective method of
conveying information to and within a development
team is face-to-face conversation
