I've created teams in my ARP Plan using the Existing Team option and now I see that ARP wants to write these teams back to Jira. The teams already existed in Jira so I'm concerned that this will cause issues with the Teams backlogs in Jira. Can someone explain why ARP needs to update Team names in Jira?

Hi @Carey Kiernan

As of right now, teams in Advanced Roadmaps are a separate entity from those found in Jira Software. When you save your changes back to Jira, the Team in Advanced Roadmap will be added to the Teams field on your issues (if you have that configured), and any changes you've made to the team such as changes to capacity, team name, etc, will be saved in Advanced Roadmaps only. As of right now, these changes will have no bearing on the Jira teams that you'll find in the People menu on the global nav.

In the near future, we plan to unify the teams concepts across Advanced Roadmaps and Jira Software. Link to the community post announcing the public alpha. Bear in mind that this is in very early access at the moment, but that's the direction we're trending.

Does this help?

Cheers
Eddie

@Carey Kiernan

It's always recommend to test these in a lower environment but I don't think so to the best of my knowledge

Best,

Clark
