Why is a story assigned to epic but does not show in Scope of Epic?

I have a story that I have assigned to an Epic. When I view the plan and see the Epic, it does not show that story under Scope. All said, I have about 70 issues (stories/defects etc.) under the epic and only about 12 show under the Scope table. What is happening? It's messing up my timeline view and this Epic which was shipped 2 weeks ago shows as not starting until a few weeks from now and finishing next year.

@Gregory Hatcher

Portfolio reports from whatever sources were set in configuration. Here are a couple of ideas:

  • Some of the "missing" stories are on non-selected boards, add them in configuration
  • Filters (fix/ version, dates, components, lables, etc) would limit your scope, check those
  • Release tab will do the same as above, check release selection
