I have two projects; “A” and “B”, with issues that are linked to epics in a third project “C”. The idea is to use Timeline or Plan in project C to visualize progress in project A and B by using the same epics (created in project C)
I really like this view....
but I also would like to get the coloured bars for each epic that I get in the timeline of my own project like this:
If possible, what do I need to do?
Hi @Anna Ehn and welcome to the Community!
The timeline bars are just a visual representation of the period between a given start en end date for your issues.
In your advanced roadmaps plan, you can configure which fields to use as start and end date. Check the issues in your project to find out what fields are being used to represent the bars, navigate to your plan's plan settings > scheduling and select the same fields:
That is already an important prerequisite. If you like, you can choose to roll up the scheduled dates of your child issues to their parent epics in your plan as well. That would mean you don't actually save any dates with your epics, but get a rolled up result of the underlying issues. You can enable that in your plan by selecting view settings and then ticking the box next to dates.
Hope this helps!
Thank you! Now I can get on with my planning!
