JIRA Portfolio Start and End Dates Incorrect on Initiatives

We created a hierarchy on JIRA Portfolio with Objective -> Program -> Initiative -> Epic -> Story/Task.  The dates on Stories are correct and are being pulled in from the Sprints which populate Target Start and End Dates on Stories.   However the dates on the Epic, Initiative, Program and Objective levels are not being populated correctly from the stories.  The Target Start Date and Target End Dates are not using the first date for the Target Start Date and last date for the Target End Date from the stories.

Hi @David Lam,

What version of Advanced Roadmaps / Portfolio are you using? The ability to roll-up dates wasn't available in all versions to you might need to upgrade to take advantage of this capability. It also needs to be enabled in the plan settings,

Regards,

Dave

It should be the most recent version

Portfolio for Jira - 3.29.7

I already enabled it and the roll up is working for Epics just not the hierarchy above.  Epic to Initiatives,  Initiatives to Programs and Programs to Objectives are not working for rolling up the dates. Initiatives, Programs, Objectives do not have the inherited dates icon with the arrow.

Thanks for confirming the version @David Lam, that sounds concerning - this might sound like a stupid question, but can you also confirm that the parent link is correctly set between those epics and initiatives?

Also, the inherited date won't show up in the same way that the sprint inferred dates do ... it will actually show up as a roll up symbol, see this screenshot for an example:

I'm guessing this isn't what you're seeing? The striped issue bars indicate that the dates are rolled up.

Regards,

Dave

Are your Epics, Initiatives, Programs and Objectives in the sprints, or just the stories? As I believe the "roll-up" of dates comes from the Sprint dates, not the children. Thus, to inherit the dates (where blank) they would have to be in the sprint.

The Epics, Initiatives, Programs and Objectives are not in the Sprints.  I got Epics to work it looks from the Stories. But Epic to Initiatives,  Initiatives to Programs and Programs to Objectives are not working for rolling up the dates.  Initiatives Programs, Objectives do not that the inherited dates icon with the arrow.
