Issue Hierarchy - Can not remove Epic as number one

Edited

We have Advanced Roadmaps and are using our project and roadmap for 2 years now and have a lot of tickets :)

Until now we have focused on organizing the work with Epic as top-level, which is not sufficient.

Our goal is to organize our issues by

1. Initiative

2. Epic

3. Story / Task

4. Sub-Task

The challenge is, that it seems as if we can not remove Epic from 1st level and assign Initiative with this level. As you can see in the screenshot, the "remove" link is also not available for Epic.

Can you please let us know how to achieve this?

I think you want to remove the Bug level name (bugs will sit with stories in the standard issue types level).

This will give you Initiatives as a parent level to Epics. You cannot remove Epic level, as it is part of the fundamental issue type hierarchy in Jira, not just Advanced Roadmaps.

Totally agree with @Danielle Green answer. Will add in, that it is the "Parent link" field that will link the Epics to the initiatives, so it makes sense to ensure that field is available on your Epics,

Think Epic link field, but for the layer/s above.
