I excluded an epic from my plan but some child issue still shows!

In my plan I did exclude some epics as they are "noise" activity that my team capacity does not take into account. However, some issues are showing up. What is the exclude logic for new USs added to an excluded epic? Will they show up as Stories without epic? What can I do to prevent this scope to show up?

In Portfolio, you have an Issue sources setting, which you can select/exclude some issues in your plan. 

Please double check if you still have any of stories still selected over there. You will see something like this over there under the Scope section:
