How do I map multiple releases from a single project to a cross project release

We're running Jira v8.5.4 and Portfolio/Advanced Roadmaps v.3.26.0

We have several Jira projects (teams), each with one or more project releases for each of the products that team is responsible for (e.g. iOS app, Android app, etc.).  Using the new advanced roadmaps interface, I am trying to create a new cross-project release.  I am able to select a Linked release and Chose a version, then select Add release no problem.  The issue comes up when I want to select another release from that same project to include in the cross-project release.  The team appears in the projects already included section of the dropdown and I cannot select it.  Is there some secondary workflow to add another release from the same Jira project or is this not supported?

Has anyone found an answer to this? Not being able to assign multiple releases from a single project to a cross project release makes this functionality unusable for us.
