Do you have to re-select Releases every time you add a new Board or Project to your Portfolio plan?

I am building out a company-wide Portfolio plan (3.0 version) and bringing in 1 board at a time. Every time I configure the plan to add a new board, I have to re-select all of the releases for each board. Is there a way that Portfolio can remember the previous Release I selected?

Also, does Portfolio automatically add newly created releases in the plan, or will I have to go in and select all of the releases each time a new release is created (I cant' select all because there are many releases I don't want in the plan).

Thank you.
