Hi

We are looking to introduce resource planning and need to understand if Jira and advanced road maps can process our requirements. We will want to identify employees by skills and skills experience and then use that to understand resource availability for projects. an example would be a senior tester role, if we only have 1 senior tester within the company with specific skills and experience, then they can only be allocated to a selected project and may not be available for future work. The aim is to be able to ensure that projects are not started that require specific skills until that skilled resource is available. Looking at the roadmap software I can see how employees can be allocated but does this show their skills and if so is it searchable?

Thanks

Hi @Dave Beecroft

Welcome to a community!

I couldn't find any evident information in the documentation about skills usage in AR.

ActivityTimeline plugin for resource planning has skills and skill level features as well. You can create your own new Proficiency levels, that could later be associated with your users.

ActivityTimeline provides a possibility to create a group of experts (functional team) that is formed automatically based on either its position or skillset. As an option, you can create a functional team and track all activities based on employees' skills.

To track user availability or level availability ActivityTimeline allows to create Skill Availability Report and Skill Level Availability Report that provides a summary of the skill (level) availability of the members in the team.
