Hi, In Jira Advanced Roadmap, we have noticed, the estimate provided in individual stories like 1D, is not exactly showing up as 1 day in Gantt view.
By default the gantt bar is spread for whole sprint, if no start and end date is provided.
Also we are unable to view day wise if we select more than 10 days, always its grouped at week level, and only when customized date range is less than 5 days, we are able to see day view in gantt, how to show day wise view by default for any date range
Hi @JK,
That is correct. If you work in sprints, all issues assigned to a sprint will be displayed for the full length of that sprint on the timeline. This is how it works by design.
There is also a difference between your estimate (i.e. the amount of work something is going to take for completion) and the duration of the work (the period between start and due dates). This is usually a good thing and a reflection of reality. It is not because a piece of work requires 3 days of effort, that people are going to perform this work without interruption in exactly 3 days. I've seen tasks with a projected effort of 3 days run on for several months occasionally, so it's good that you can visualise both.
Furthermore, the visualisation you are looking at in AR (or Plans) is rather a visual timeline than a Gantt chart. That may be not too important in itself, but it's good to be aware of that to more or less support your expectations when you're looking at it.
Finally, indeed; there are some limitations when it comes zooming into the level of detail on the timeline view. This is because the tool is mainly built to visualise roadmaps across multiple projects / teams on a longer time horizon.
Hope this helps!
