With the next gen projects as Private, we want our user in the instance to access them.

Surfaraz T April 22, 2020

Hey,

I have Next gen projects as private but users in my instance cannot access them. I want them to be private and access it. Is it possible? I don’t want to change the access to open

Thanks

Hello Surfaraz,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

When using next-gen projects, we can set projects as Open to let any licensed user access it and Private if we want only users added manually to have access.

You created the question as Portfolio, so I'm not sure if you are talking about Jira Software or Jira Service Desk next-gen.

If it's Jira Software, there are three options to access the project:

Private: Only people manually added to the project will have access.

Limited: Anyone will be able to access, but only people added to the project will be able to create and edit issues.

Open: Anyone will be able to access the project and create/edit issues.

For Jira Service Desk next-gen projects, there are only two options:

Private: Only people manually added will be able to access the project.

Open: Anyone will be able to access and view the tickets, but only people added as agents will be able to add comments to customers.

For more details, please check the documentation below:

Regards,
Angélica
