JIRA Portfolio : search feature

Hello,

Currently, when we are at Epic Level, Portfolio cannot show all the User Stories because we have so many items in the backlog (error message : The next level of hierarchy is currently disabled. There are too many issues to load them all individually. Please use filters to narrow down the data set first. )

How can we search for a specific Epic and all its User Stories in Portfolio ???

Hello Amine,

This is covered in the Documentation in Creating and deleting plans but there are some hard set limits on the plans for what can be imported or rendered that are set for performance reasons to prevent overloading the system as these are resource intensive operations.

The Hierarchy level is disabled for the next level down if the total issue count is > 2000 in your case filtering at the epic level you have  Initiative + Epic + Story  > 2000 so the story level is disabled and not rendered.

As an exaggerated example if you have a plan that contains 1 epic with 2000 stories in that epic, only the Epic level will render and the stories cannot be expanded as the total count is 2001 and the story hierarchy level is disabled

We have the following Feature Request to allow increasing these limits:

Currently the only option is to reduce the scope of you plan to render the content at the lower levels, As covered in the Documentation listed above:

you can consider creating multiple plans and spread the work across these plans, or you can exclude certain issues from the sources that you're connecting to your plan.

Regards,
Earl
