Epic Duration based on its issues

eFlaux June 21, 2021

Hi,

All issues are associated to Epics and Sprints.

Issues are showing in the time laps in their Sprint's dates, but the Epic itself is not showing any dates.

I'd like the Epic to show active across all issues' sprint association.

So it an Epic has stories running on 3 sprints, the Epic itself will show across 3 sprints.

Hello @eFlaux ,

Thanks for reaching out, and I believe what you are looking for is the "Roll up Dates" option under the View settings.

The roll-up of dates will apply to an epic if it doesn't have dates explicitly set on it.  If you have already set or run the auto-schedule algorithm it will assign dates to the epic (where possible) and then a roll-up will not be applied.  The issues on the timeline that has a rolled-up date will be displayed with a "stripey" pattern that is shown on the issue bar and manually set dates will be a solid bar.

Check out the following thread detailing the feature for more details and an example video of how to enable the setting:

Regards,
Earl
