Create Plans using Templates in Advanced Roadmaps. Clone Plan in AR.

Edited

Problem Statement:

For an End to End DevOps Implementation team like ours, who handles configuration of Advanced Roadmaps for different Project teams it is a hassle to repeat the steps of configuration.

Proposed Solution:

  • Ability to create a base template with all configurations, this will be used to clone and select the intended JIRA Project to create new AR Plan with all filters and configurations.
  • Ability to clone an existing Plan and an option to update the JIRA Project.

So, in other words, the ability to create a templated set of views (filters) that can be redeployed to new plans with different issue sources.

As long as all your projects are configured the same (or very close), that could be handy. But what is filtered in from the Issue Sources could well compromise the effectiveness of this approach. Not to mention the teams and exceptions etc configuration.

That said, I can see how it could be useful for like for like set-ups.
