Is there equivalent of ScriptRunner Behaviour feature in Automation for Jira?

ScriptRunner Behaviour allows automation/customization on Issue Creation screen, i.e. before the issue is created.

Hi @Petr Papousek

Not at this point, that's not what Automation does.

Automation for Jira provides automated actions for Issues, based on triggers - with the earliest trigger for Issues being "Issue Created" (i.e post-creation).

For the functionality you're seeking, Behaviours in Scriptrunner (or a similar App) is what you'll need.

Scriptrunner has several main areas of functionality:

  • Script Listeners - executes on an event trigger
  • Script Field - executes on an issue view or index for each issue
  • Behaviours - executes on a screen/form load or update
  • WebFragments - injects components into the ui
  • Script Jobs - executes on a schedule (CRON)
  • Workflow Conditions, Validators and Post Functions.

I think Automation only covers cases equivalent to Script Listeners and Script Jobs.
