How does the scriptrunner register new JQL command?

Hi, new to JIRA but I work with an automate platform.

The platform allows the JIRA queries but nothing advanced like exact matching. If I install the advanced script runner plugin on JIRA should I be able to use the advanced functions on the platform and then the scriptrunner will register new JQL command?

It works a bit differently in cloud as the search functionality utilizes the Cloud API search.
