Can I add JPD to my sandbox so I can try it out?

I would like to turn on JPD in my sandbox so that I can test it out, and see what it does before we commit funds and effort to deploy in production.

If possible, could you please provide the steps to take to achieve this in Jira Cloud.

Hello Nicole, 

Jira Product Discovery isn't supported in sandboxes as per this documentation. 

You can create a new test site with Jira Product Discovery on it to try it out outside your production.
