📖 tl;dr:

Because helping the planet is Impossible Alone, the community will be planting trees this month with Eden Reforestation Projects. Make sure you’re signed up for the Kudos program (click Kudos at the top right of your screen) and help us plant 30,000 trees this month by liking or sharing content or RSVPing to our virtual or in-person community events. Every like, share or RSVP plants a tree! You can plant up to 100 trees every day.

It’s finally here! Time for Likes for Trees II: The Likening

Your votes in our poll have planted 1,915 trees, and our Leaders of the Pack planted some number of additional trees last quarter, which we will calculate and add to the final total at the end of the month. You’ve also voted in our poll to decide where we’re planting trees this year: Brazil, Ethiopia, and Haiti.

Ways to help plant more trees!

One of our favorite things about Likes for Trees is that it helps users find like-worthy content all around the community. Please post your recommendations in the comments! I’m a huge fan of the content in the Teamwork Lab as well as the community roundups from @Jimmy Seddon , and I’d love to hear in the comments what great content and authors you’ve discovered lately.

This year we’re also adding RSVP to plant a tree. (You know it’s good because it rhymes.) Know any events that your fellow community members might be interested in? Drop them in the comments below. And if you’re wondering what ACEs are all about? Read our overview post or ask in the comments below, we’ll be happy to give you the rundown or even find you a friend to attend with!

Oh, and if you want to post a bunch of pictures of trees and like a whole bunch of other people’s pictures of trees? We have a thread for that this year too.

@ronald.bergmann I love that idea!

We definitely try to have a balance of initiatives. Some are about quantity, and scale, and discovery, and this is an example of one of those. (Likes should not be broken though, can you tell me what device, browser and version you're using?)

We have other initiatives that are about high-quality content. We have the Content Bounty program that is currently for Leaders only, but will soon be opening up to Rising Stars (you heard it here first). We're currently not planting trees as part of that, but that's a great thought too. Stay tuned and keep the ideas coming!

@Victor Westmann we partner with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant our trees.

In Ethiopia, trees are planted in the Dawuro Zone, located in the heart of the Omo Valley of Ethiopia. In Brazil, there are three projects: reforesting mangrove estuaries in the Amazon, restoring native species in Caatinga forest, and planting in the Cerrado tropical savanna. In northern Haiti, the reforestation project is located where the Noir and Massif du Nord Mountain ranges meet the Artibonite Plains of Gonaives.

As a bonus, here is a picture of one of the projects we helped fund last year, in Kenya. Each one of those tiny trees was a Like! 🥰
