Welcome to our new platform, friends! 📣
In case you missed the background, our previous announcement post is here. And we're hoping after you've had a chance to look around, you'll feel less like this… 😱 …and more like this:
What should I do first?
We highly recommend subscribing to this Community Announcements space by going to this page and clicking "Follow."
This is where the Community Team will post ongoing updates. For the first time, you can also subscribe to the “community-release-notes” tag to get updates. To subscribe to a tag, click on the tag itself and choose “Follow.”
Something is different!
We’ve put together an guide for you here, with some information about some of the major changes we’ve made and why we made them. Please start here to get oriented to the changes. Again, that link is: What's Changed on Atlassian Forums.
But some of my favorite changes?
- For the first time, you can now search for People and Places, not just content
- We finally have a good editor! Seriously, try the new editor! It's dreamy.
- We've refreshed and expanded Forums ranks
- Did I mention you can subscribe to tags? Yay!
- Ideas are finally here! More on that below…
Something is broken!
With a migration of this complexity, we aren’t surprised! You can report issues in this dedicated thread, and our Development Team will be standing by to help resolve them. We’ll update this post with known issues and we’ll let you know how we’re progressing towards fixes.
Something is confusing!
Let us know in the comments below. We’ll be updating our documentation with additional walkthroughs, screenshots, and information as needed. Our Community Management Team is also standing by to help you, and we have folks in almost every time zone. So don’t hesitate to reach out.
Something could be better!
We are so excited to hear your feedback. We’ll be listening hard so we know what to tackle first. Please let us know how we can make your forums experience better in the comments below, and keep an eye out for our first survey on the new platform, launching soon.
We will also have a new suggestion mechanism on the new platform - the Forums Ideas & Feature Requests area. Community Champions and our Community Management team can create ideas there, and the whole community can vote to determine the top ideas. Don’t worry though - if your idea gets support in the comments and you aren’t yet a Champion, we will be sure to turn it into an official idea on your behalf!
Something is awesome!
We really hope you find things to love about the new platform and that, after the dust settles, we can ship even more things you love. Comment early and often, and our community managers, developers, and designers will all be here to help!
