Turn off ai comment summary

Question

I previously turned off the ai comment summary in jira with the link that was visible in the summary itself.

Atlassian seems to have turned it on again without asking, and now the option to turn it off is missing.

We would like not to have such feature forced on us, we would like a solution to turn this off.

I don’t really recommend it, but if you use Greasemonkey (or something similar like Tampermonkey), you can use my userscript at https://github.com/binki/binki-atlassian-jira-summarize-hide which specifically targets that summary thing.

P.S., that specific script just adds CSS, so if you already use a custom style add-on you can probably just copy-paste the CSS in there. But then you won’t get automatic updates as Atlassian changes their sites and I update the script in response.

On my end, the 'turn off comment summaries' is back but does not seem to have any effect.. I keep getting summaries slowing more and more work item page loading...

Any workarount to disable it 'for real' ?

I don’t have administrative access to the Jira instances where I encounter this, so an administrative option to disable AI for the site is not an option for me.
