How do you add a status to a new column?

I am trying to add a new column to my Board.

When I click More Actions>Configure Columns, there is an option to add columns, but I get the error "Columns must have at least one Status", however there is no way to add a status to my new column. Because of this I cant publish the new columns.

Hi @Matt Seddon , welcome to the Atlassian Community!

For this case, you need first to create a status to map within this column. Try the following: Project Settings > Workflows > Edit Workflow > Add an existing status or create a new one and publish your workflow.

After this, the status will be available to be associated for your column and you will be able to create the column since you will have a status to be maped.
