Hi, in the recent update I have noticed that STATUS button is moved to below the title or Summary. How to change the STATUS button back to right side...above the ticket details section.
Thanks!
Mahanth.
Hey @MahanthPrudhvi ,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
We wanted to inform you that the Move Status has been relocated from its original position to under the Summary section as part of an experiment that our development team has recently rolled out across all customer instances
You can find more details about this change here:https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-articles/Easier-status-updates-for-work-items/ba-p/3068881
We understand that this change may feel unexpected or challenging to adjust to. At this time, it’s not possible to revert the status to its previous location. We truly appreciate your patience as you get used to this update.
If you have any feedback or concerns, please share them directly on the community post linked above, so our developers can see them firsthand.
Additionally, we’ve created a feature request to gather votes and attention from the team, which you can find here:https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-27789
Thank you for your understanding and support.
RegardsChitra Nagdeo
@Chitra Nagdeo thanks for your response and sharing the reference
Welcome @MahanthPrudhvi
@Chitra Nagdeo are you for real? This is not the sort of thing you should be 'experimenting' with! This needs to be reverted back asap so that paying customers are not adversely impacted by such a misguided experiment
This change has significantly impacted our team. After spending a few hours trying to figure out what broken and how to fix it, we realized this was intentional, and there is NO option to revert or place on the page where you want.
This is a disappointing change that resulting in work taking longer.
Hello Community members!
Please follow the recent update made on the feature request JRACLOUD-96247.
Why we updated the status button location:Updating work item status is one of the most frequent actions in Jira. Placing the status field directly beneath the summary enables a simple reading flow: summary → status → description. This helps users get up to speed on the state of work more quickly and brings the most common actions (updating status, adding content, and using apps) together in one location.
What we heard from you:Based on your feedback, we’re committing to two clear next steps:
We recognise that scrolling back up the page is required to update status for work items with lots of content. To reduce overall scrolling, we’re consolidating related sections to present data more concisely. These improvements will be rolling out soon.
We’ve also introduced collapsible sections and are exploring other changes to address this issue.
Additionally, there are several keyboard shortcuts to quickly update the status without scrolling:
Pressing d on the work item view will immediately bring up the status dropdown, regardless of where you are on the page.
d
"Edit Status" is also the first option in the command palette, triggered by either the ⌘ + K or . shortcuts.
⌘ + K
.
Communications and awareness of this change:We will undertake a holistic review of how we roll out this type of change in Jira. We acknowledge that many Jira admins and users were caught off-guard, and we should have applied a more rigorous approach, even though there were no functional changes.
If you have any questions or further feedback, please let us know.RegardsChitra Nagdeo
