How to to sync Compass component Tier field with Jira

Hi Atlassian Community,

I’m trying to sort a Jira backlog using multiple criteria via Jira automation, and one of the key sorting rules involves the tier of the components stored in Compass.

To make this possible, I need to sync the component tier field from Compass into Jira, so that it can be used for sorting and prioritisation.

Has anyone implemented something similar? What would be the best way to sync this field between Jira and Compass - is there any recommended integration, automation, or workaround for this?

Hey @Anastasiia Ivanova - welcome to Atlassian Community!

There isn't an integration for syncing Compass components with Jira Cloud/Jira Software (as there is for Jira Service Management).

I also haven't seen a Marketplace app or plugin that can help with this unfortunately - but someone else may have!

Based on this article it seems the Compass/Jira Cloud trigger in Atlassian Automation doesn't expose Compass tier fields either.

In order to make this work you will probably require some custom scripting if you or someone in your team has the skillset for this?
