How do I swap to the new search engine in Jira and then swap back after testing?

If you are talking about the screen you get when you go to Filters > Search Work Items, the switch is under the ... button in the upper right corner.
If that is not the screen about which you are asking, can you provide a screen image of the screen you are viewing?
