Limit client number of tickets

I would like to limit the volume of tickets that our customers can submit to 3 per month.

After exceeding the quota, automated message saying that the limit was breached would be sent.

How Can I achieve it in JSM, without using any additional marketplace addons?

 

Rn query as below lists every ticket that was created this month, but I don't know how to proceed as AND count >= 4 does not work.

project = JSX AND (created >= startOfMonth() and created <= endOfMonth())

You can limit issue creation based on number of issues.

Issue creation can be limited on certain issue types or users or groups in general, but not per number of issues.

Yes, you could sent an automated message to a user who created the issue over a set threshold, but that won't prevent them to still create issues

JQL: project = JSX and creator=<related user> and created >= startOfMonth() and created <= endOfMonth()

A count option doesn't exist in JQL.

You could a achieve this by creating a custom field of type number and update this field by 1 every time a customer creates and issue.

Then you can compare this field value in the automation.

With another automaton you could set this back to zero at the beginning of a month.
