Jira Automation to track unplanned stories getting to an active sprint

I need an Automation that labels a story if it gets injected into an active sprint. 

The following is the structure of my backlog section : 

Backlog 

Sprint 1 -> Active Sprint (Started) 

Sprint 2 

Sprint 3 

Sprint 4 

 

Now I can get openSprints(), which would show me all four sprints, but I don't want that, I want just to track the active sprint injections. is it possible

What have you done thus far to solve this need?

 

If you have an automation rule that is not working as expected, please post the following so the community can provide suggestions:

• what type of project is this (e.g., company-managed, team-managed, etc.), 
• an image of your complete automation rule,
• images of any relevant actions / conditions / branches,
• an image of the audit log details showing the rule execution, and
• explain what is not working as expected.

 

If you have not yet started a rule, I suggest trying to do so.  This community is a place for people to learn, share ideas, and help one another.  Trying to solve this yourself first will help you understand the problem / need and increase the chances of success.

To help you get started, I recommend inverting the scenario solution a bit.  The reason is the changelog entries are not consistently accurate for the Sprint field, and so a single rule approach may not work.  Instead you could try...

1. using a rule triggered on Sprint Started, add a label / indicator for the issues in the sprint
2. using a rule triggered on a change to the Sprint field, check if the label / indicator was absent, and if so add your "scope_change" label
3. using a rule triggered on Sprint Completed, clear the indicator added by rule #1 for any remaining issues
