Cant pivot a status transition to make the user go through QA when needed

Hi community

I'm trying to create an automation, that whenever an issue is marked 'QA required' (a custom field) and a user is trying to transition from a status before QA , to Done, it automatically transitions it to QA status

The statuses you can transition from to QA are as mentioned in the automation rule - In progress, Code review, and Merged (and you can transition from QA to Done)

Each time I try to trigger this automation I get the following Error message -

I think it might be the fact that I'm trying to pivot a transition while it's occurring. I don't think there's a problem with the IF condition...

Welcome to the community!
The rule happens After the transition, so when the issue is already in status "Done".
As such, if you want this to work, you will have to configure your workflow that it is possible to go from "Done" to "QA".

I would rather have a blocking condition on your transition to "Done" that the issue has to have been in "QA" first if the custom field is checked, however, this cannot be done natively without any apps.
