Consultation on Assignment of Plans for New Members of the Organization

Dear Atlassian Team,

I hope you are well. My name is [Your Name] and I am the account administrator for [Your Organization Name] at Atlassian. Currently, we are subscribed to the premium plan and I would like to clarify a question regarding the incorporation of new workers to our organization on the platform.

I would like to know if every time I add a new worker to our Atlassian organization, does they automatically purchase the same premium plan that we are currently using? Or are they assigned a free plan by default? This is important to us for planning and budgeting purposes.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter and any additional details I may need to consider when adding new team members.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The subscription plans are not applied to individual users. The plan applies to the entire instance of the product. If you have set up a Premium Jira Software subscription, all users that are granted access to that specific Jira Software instance are charged at the Premium Jira Software rate.

Whether or not the user is automatically granted access to the Jira Software product automatically when you add them to your organization is a different question. That depends on how add users to your organization and how you grant users access to your products.
