How to automate a field selection?

Question

I am creating issues (Environment Booking Requests) automatically, one a week. How can I get automation to select the options in the Environments-field? Also, I'd like to have "Environments to Book" -field options selected.

I have it like this:

"fields" : {

"Environments" : [ "selection1", "selection2", "selection3" ] }

What am I doing wrong?

But what type of custom field are they?

Go to the list of custom fields (Admin -> Issues -> Custom fields), find their name in the list and look at the second column!

Some things about automation rules and fields...

Not all built-in or custom fields are directly available in action drop-down lists.  For example, Story Point Estimate (for team-managed projects), many of the advanced roadmap fields, etc.  And the fields added by a marketplace addons may not be available for various reasons.

And even for supported fields, some can only be updated using advanced edit with JSON or by calling the REST API with a web request.  Please use these references if you need either of those approaches:

Those two fields "Environments to Book" and "Environments" are customfields and I now know the IDs. It should be pretty easy to pick "Workday Kainos" from that list. I need these to trigger calendar in the GoLive to show a timeline of bookings of an environment.
